Frequently asked questions

Short answers for Statutory Conversation Simulator (KallosSim) practitioners and org admins. Full handbook: How to use. Tickets: Contact.

Getting started

Who is KallosSim designed for?

Practitioners and managers across seven UK sectors: Children's Services, Adult Social Care, Health, Youth Justice, Witness Intermediary, HR & Employment, and Legal Advocacy. International children's packs are available for CA, AU, US, and IE as early-access pilots.

What practitioner roles are available?

Roles are filtered by the sector you open. Children's includes Social Worker, DSL, IRO, Early Help, Family Support, Registered Manager (Children's Home), SSW, ISW, and SENCO. Other sectors include Adult Social Worker, Health Visitor, CAMHS, YOT Worker, Police CPO, Registered Intermediary, Line Manager / HRBP / ER, and Legal Advocacy roles (Barrister, Solicitor Advocate, Pupil Barrister, CPS Advocate, LA Family Advocate, Duty Solicitor). Pick your role on first visit — Card A on the deck reflects that choice.

Can I switch between sectors?

Yes. Return to services and open any of the seven sector entry points. Same login and subscription; progression history is shared. Each sector loads its own role picker and framework.

Are all sectors equally deep?

No. Knowledge depth is graded on purpose. Children's Services is founding depth; HR has a dedicated ACAS-oriented pack; Adult, Health, Youth Justice, and Witness are live early access; Legal Advocacy is content-ready formative practice. Platform qualities (AI, RAG, reflection, GDPR) apply everywhere — citation strength follows the pack. Full table: platform qualities.

Does choosing a US county mean a full county statute manual?

No. Any supported county is selectable for localised rehearsal (county name, state process stages, practice archetype). Curated knowledge depth is federal + state (deepest in California) plus county overlays only where official policy has been reviewed — not a unique manual for all 3,234 counties. Selectable ≠ knowledge depth →

What does “founding” mean — price or depth?

Two different things: founding member price (£9/month locked while subscribed) is a commercial rate. Founding knowledge depth means the Children's Services corpus is the deepest curated UK pack. Paying the founding price does not make every sector Children's-deep. Glossary →

Card deck & practice

How to use the card deck

Ten parameters (A–J) shape each AI-generated case. Start from your role (A), then set process stage, complexity, target group, diversity dimension, conversation type, emotional state, relationship history, training focus, and (for young-person targets) maturity. Lock cards you want to keep; shuffle the rest; then Generate.

Card deck dimensions explained

A — Your role · B — Process stage · C — Complexity · D — Target group · E — Diversity dimension · F — Conversation type · G — Emotional state · H — Relationship history · I — Training focus · J — Maturity (young-person targets only). Cards B, D, E, F, I, and J cascade from earlier picks so incoherent combinations are filtered out.

How to start a conversation

After case generation, open Conversation, read the case and persona, then type (or use voice) your opening turn. End when ready to move to the formative debrief. Never enter real personal data about real people.

How to read your debrief

After you end a conversation you get formative scores with rationale, a persona perspective view, and reflection prompts. Scores support learning and supervision conversation — they are not a formal competence record.

Understanding evaluation scores

Criteria are typically scored 0–3 with written rationale and framework citations where the knowledge pack hits. Scores are advisory. Under DUAA 2025 / UK GDPR you can ask your organisation's DPO to review an automated score you disagree with.

Is any of this real case data?

No. Every scenario, persona, and conversation is AI-generated. Do not paste real case details into the simulator.

Privacy & accounts

What data does KallosSim store?

Account identifiers, session metadata, formative scores/rationale, and consent preferences — scoped per organisation. Conversation text is processed for the session and evaluation pipeline under our privacy notice; see Privacy for retention and rights.
